Sunday, August 3, 2008
The U.S. Department of Transportation lifted the Restrictions in the number of people traveling between Brazil and the US, it has been reported.
According to the Wall Street Journal's Market Watch, U.S. and Brazil have agreed to permit an unlimited number of passenger airlines to fly between their countries. They have agreed to remove the prior limit of four carriers each. The new agreement between the countries will result in 50% increase in passenger flights between the countries and will also allow for the expansion of cargo services.
The agreement will allow additional weekly flights and any number of U.S. or Brazilian airlines can now serve the market. The U.S. and Brazilian carriers for the first time will be able to offer various services on a code-share basis with their third-country partner airlines.
Under the new accord, the number of weekly cargo flights would grow to 35 from 24 right away, and by 2010 it will increase to 42. U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Mary Peters has stated that this agreement will facilitate air carriers meet the increasing demand for passenger and cargo services between the United States and Brazil. The significant liberalization measures in the air transportation in Brazil will strengthen and inflate the already vibrant tourism sector and property market.
As a result of more flights, air passengers will benefit from more frequent and affordable access to popular Brazilian tourist destinations. Rental property owners in Brazil should find it easier with the increased demand expected from US tourists.

Brazil taps into Mexican market
Tuesday, June 17, 2008
Brazil's tourism institute has revealed that an increasing number of tourists are choosing to take their holidays in Brazil and the overall number of foreign arrivals during 2008 was likely to exceed the total recorded a year earlier.
Embratur has created a new body, The Discover Brazil to attract tourists from Mexico and the new promotional campaign will begin from June. This shows that government is taking efforts to market the country as a good holiday destination abroad. Tourism officials, Representatives of the four airlines that operate between the two countries, travel agents and diplomats met recently to decide on implementing the service in Mexico.
The promotional drive will be launched across various parts of Mexico to support the country as a tourist destination amongst the Mexican people. The campaign will benefit investors of rental accommodation in Brazil as the country's government is actively targeting the tourist sector and trying to attract overseas vacationers through various means.
Prices are still relatively cheap but with the stable economy property experts believe that there is a strong basis for property prices to catapult higher. Consequently, property investors who enter the market ahead of price appreciation could find their purchase is worth much more within short span of time.

Brazil is benefiting from the improved international connectivity, high tourist trade, housing market growth, and growing interest from overseas property buyers. Tourism has been the prominent factor that has encouraged investors to buy property for sale in Brazil. This means that rental accommodations in popular Brazilian tourist hotspots are becoming more and more sought-after by tourists. The increased occupancy rates due to booming tourism will result in high rental yields. Additionally, the growing interest and demand will have the effect of boosting property values.
Liam Bailey, head of residential research at the property consultancy, anticipated investors in Brazil would see "substantial wealth creation" in the next decade. Earlier property website Homes Worldwide has said that Brazil has seen capital growth of around 20 per cent in its property last year.
